ELAICHIX / AIRWORDS

AirWords
Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This policy describes how Elaichix (the developer of AirWords) handles information in the current Android app and its development previews. AirWords is a learning app with touch controls and optional camera-based hand controls. Questions: support@elaichix.com.

Information stored on your device

AirWords stores player nicknames, generated local player identifiers, learning attempts, progress, achievements and preferences on your device so activities can remember your choices and progress. Use a nickname rather than a child’s full name. No online account is required. The Android app does not send learning progress to Elaichix or to the desktop companion service.

Optional camera access

If you enable hand controls and grant camera permission, AirWords processes camera frames on your device to estimate hand positions and control the game. Camera pictures are not uploaded or saved as video by AirWords. The app does not record microphone audio. Ordinary hand-tracking results are used during play; the separate optional study described below can save hand-point measurements. You can use touch controls without granting camera permission and revoke permission in Android Settings.

Optional local diagnostics

Diagnostic recording is off by default and can be enabled in Settings. It saves limited performance, error-category and control-event information locally to help investigate problems. These logs exclude camera footage, voice, player names and hand landmarks. Your diagnostic preference can persist between visits. Logs have a seven-day retention window and size limits; old records are pruned when the app loads or saves them, rather than by a background deletion service while the app is closed. You can clear them immediately with “Clear diagnostic logs”. Nothing is automatically sent to Elaichix.

Separate hand-control study

The optional hand-control study requires a separate permission acknowledgement and resets to off on reload. It is intended for explained, supervised testing with appropriate parent and school permission. When enabled, it records short clips of 21 hand points, cursor positions, grip measurements, timing and board geometry. It does not store camera pictures, voices, player names or lesson text. Recordings remain local, are limited to ten clips and approximately 2 MB, and have a 24-hour retention window enforced when the app reads or saves them. You can delete them immediately with “Clear hand recordings”. They do not assess a child’s ability or automatically change controls.

Exports, sharing and support

You may choose to export progress, a diagnostic report or study records. Exporting creates a file you control; it does not automatically send that file to us. Review files before sharing. Other apps or people you share them with handle their copies under their own practices. If you email support, we receive your email address and the contents you choose to send, and use them to respond and resolve the request. Please do not send children’s personal details or recordings. We retain support correspondence while it is needed to handle the request and related follow-up; you can request deletion by email, subject to any necessary legal or security retention.

Children and families

AirWords is designed for learning with adult guidance. It does not require children to register online or provide contact information. Parents and teachers should manage camera permissions, exports and optional study recording. Elaichix does not sell children’s information or use it for targeted advertising. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information to support so we can address its deletion.

Advertising and third parties

The current app contains no advertising, advertising identifier collection or third-party advertising analytics. Hand-tracking components process camera input locally. Opening an external website, including this policy, sends normal web requests to that website and its hosting provider; see our website privacy notice. Google Play’s store and download services are governed by Google’s own policies.

Retention, deletion and security

Local learning progress and settings remain until removed from app storage. To erase all local Android data, use Settings → Apps → AirWords → Storage → Clear storage. This cannot be undone through Elaichix. App backup exclusions are configured for Android backup and device transfer. Deleting app data does not remove files previously exported, emailed or shared: delete those copies separately. Data relies on your device’s security and app-storage protections; keep your device and backups secure. We cannot remotely access or erase your local progress.

Desktop versions

If you separately run the desktop edition with its companion service, it can send a generated player identifier and learning attempts to that service on the same computer. Clearing browser storage does not remove that service’s separate database. This is distinct from the Android app’s local-only progress storage.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when the app’s data practices change and revise the date above. Material new collection or permissions will be explained in the app as appropriate. For access or deletion requests concerning information you have sent us, contact support@elaichix.com. For local app records, use the deletion controls described above.
